Professor
Department of Chemistry & Molecular BiologyAbout Alesia A. Tietze
Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, is dedicated to advancing bioinspired chemical engineering for the development of peptide-based molecules and materials. Her team focuses on creating innovative solutions for diagnostics and targeted drug delivery.
The lab specializes in:
- Designing strategies to access highly hydrophobic peptides and peptide mimetics, including transmembrane peptides/proteins and venom-derived cysteine-rich peptides.
- Developing novel conjugation methods to enhance targeted delivery.
- Investigating the structure-activity relationships (SAR) of new bioactive peptides with antivirulent and bactericidal properties.
- Engineering nanopore-based sensors functionalized with peptides for advanced diagnostics.
Through this work, TIETZE LAB aims to unlock new possibilities in therapeutic delivery and biosensing.
We are located at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and are part of the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine
