About Karl Maack
For the past 15 years, I have worked in collaboration with academia, industry and society to actively support innovation processes, change management and lifelong learning. My main interest is to design solutions to needs in complex environments based on a human-centered perspective. I have primarily worked as with implementation and education, but also as coordinator and researcher.
In addition to developing and managing of several courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, I have worked actively with supporting various innovation projects in different environments. In my work as head of the department for innovation and entrepreneurship during 2013-2019, I established the collaboration platform Sahlgrenska School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SSIE) together with colleagues. SSIE is a collaboration platform between academia, industry, health and medical care, and the rest of society.
In my involvement in the field of education, I have been vice chairman of the Department of Medicine's Education Committee during the years 2013-2018. During the same period, I was the program manager for the multidisciplinary international master's program in business creation and entrepreneurship in biomedicine. This applied master's program has been run in collaboration with the School of Business and Chalmers.
Overall I am passionate about innovation and implementation, especially in the complex environment of healthcare.
