About Örjan Hansson

RESEARCH

The research has involved molecular biophysics, in particular studies of electron-transfer reactions in photosynthesis and of copper-containing proteins using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. From 2025 and onwards, Örjan Hansson is retired but will continue this research, although with theoretical methods. The plan is to use Density Functional Theory (DFT) to calculate EPR properties of radicals and transition-metal complexes that are involved in photosynthesis and cell respiration.
