Akademistatistik – consulting services in statistics and health economics

"Akademistatistik" consulting services offers statistical and health economics expertise for researchers and doctoral students at the Sahlgrenska Academy and at Region Västra Götaland. We can assist researchers from project start-up to analyses needed to finalize articles.

Akademistatistik applies the same rules regarding authorship as The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (i.e., if the consultant contributes significantly to the article, they should be a co-author).

Our services

Statistics: We can assist with experimental design, power and sample size calculations for ethics and grant applications, develop a statistical analysis plan (SAP), perform statistical analysis, model data, review drafts of articles regarding the statistical analysis and presentation of results, co-author scientific articles, etc.

Health Economics: We offer consultancy advice in applied health economics with expertise in health economic evaluations. We can support the design of health economic evaluations for grant applications, advise on or perform analysis of collected health economic data, review conducted health economic evaluations and drafted result reporting for scientific publications, co-author scientific articles, etc. We have expertise in health economic evaluations based on clinical trials as well as health economic modelling.

Start up meetings

Akademistatistik is available for a start up meeting about statistics on Thursdays 8.30-12.30 and some Tuesdays (exact dates and hours are available in the booking system). We take a break during regular vacation periods.

Online meetings

The start up meeting (the first meeting) takes place via Zoom, to facilitate logistics. We will send out a link a few days before the meeting, with information about who you will meet (you do not need to download any program).

Preparations before the meeting

You need to be able to give an informative description of your project's background, data, data collection and issues, to be the basis for a discussion on what type of statistical expertise is needed.

Price

The initial Thursday meeting plus an additional 4 hours of consultation is free of charge, thereafter the price is 640 SEK per hour.
