In autumn 2024, the Nordic Gender Fund launched its first call for applications. Out of altogether 103 applications, funding was granted to seven projects that strengthen the research infrastructure in the Nordic region.

The purpose of the Nordic Gender Fund is to strengthen the infrastructure for research in the Nordic region on norms, ideas and structures that reproduce and maintain inequalities based on, for example, gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, class and age. The Fund's first call for proposals in November 2024 resulted in 103 applications, of which seven were granted funding.

A total of SEK 500,000 was allocated as funding for activities aimed at starting or strengthening 1) scientific networks 2) organising scientific conferences 3) scientific journals. In addition to networks, conferences and journals, it was also possible to apply for other activities that promote research infrastructure, as defined by the applicant.  All activities must be carried out between 1 January and 31 December 2025.

A new call from the Nordic Gender Fund will be issued in autumn 2025.
