Short description

The purpose of my script/performance is to educate the public about neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and the impact they can have on a child or young person.

My aim is to increase knowledge and understanding of these disabilities in order to contribute to a more empathetic and caring society. I want people's differences - their otherness as I have chosen to call it - to be more accepted.

Another vision is that today's schools open their eyes to the challenges and build on their knowledge of how to adapt their activities to meet the needs of children with NPD.

In my work on the script/performance I am analysing and reflecting on how I can achieve this goal and hope to find ways in which musical theatre as an art form can promote public education.

Background

The idea of writing a folkbildning script has been in my head for many years.

Folkbildning is a collective term for study associations and folk high schools and aims to make knowledge and education available to everyone - in a democratic and equal way, outside the traditional school world.
