Scandinavian Film and Media Culture
About
The course provides a basic introduction to Scandinavian film cultures through an overview of central film directors, actors, genre traditions and contemporary trends. You will discuss concepts such as national and regional in relation to Danish, Norwegian and Swedish cinema. The course offers you knowledge about the ways media represent social and political issues. You will be introduced to the aesthetic tools necessary for discussing these issues in a specific cultural context.

Selection
Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
Facilities
The Faculty of Humanites premises are in the building Humanisten at Renströmsgatan 6. The facilities of the Department of Cultural Sciences are situated on the second floor of the building. Both Humanisten and the adjacent Humanities Library offer spacious study spaces and several group rooms.
